WHO WE ARE...
Potomac Module Crew (PMC) is an HO scale modular railroad club that promotes the hobby of model railroading at many different events in the Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland, and DC area. Crew members build a railroad section called a module that interconnects with other members’ modules to build a layout to run trains. There is always something different with the layout. From show to show, our layouts are rarely the same due to the availablity of members for various shows and the different space configurations provided by the hosting sites. To ensure operability, each member builds their module to a set of standards to allow their module(s) to connect to other modules.
Potomac Module Crew proudly supports area charity events, organizational fundraisers, railroad related events, and appears at many recurring events to include the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum, the annual Rockville Lions Club Train Show, the annual Historic Heritage Manassas Railway Festival and Greenberg's Great Train & Toy Show held at the Dulles Expo Center.
Our members have many diverse railroad interests and skills. Some are interested in modern diesel railroading, while others are interested in the steam and early diesel transition era. Members use their skills to build a variety of modules that function correctly and present a miniature view of the world. Members also help each other improve their model railroading skills when someone needs help in a specific area of module construction.
Potomac Module Crew is open to all who are interested in HO-scale modular railroading. Specification sheets on module construction are available on this website by clicking Module Standards.
